My copy of Pokémon Emerald. Note it's not next to an actual emerald. This is jasper, I think?
Back in 2018, my interest in older Pokémon games led me to a purchase that would unknowingly shape the next six years of my life.
As one of my first purchases with my own salary, I picked up a DS Lite, along with Pokémon Emerald and FireRed from GameStop online. investment left me about $120 down if I recall right. You know that feeling that you get after making a big purchase? Like, you NEED to replace that divit in your wallet.
Nowadays, you'd probably pay that much just for **Emerald alone**, The point is, I wanted to make the absolute most of my money. I had never truly experianced the third generation in an authentic way, due to becoming a Pokemon fan relatively late (gen 6), and the amount of hardware and consoles you'd need to really immerse yourself in it. But it allured me.
I had played Platinum, Black & White, and Ultra Moon to death. I could map out Sinnoh’s hidden items from memory. But Hoenn? It felt foreign to me. Like something I had missed out on for decades.
This webpage is my way of documenting some of the crazy shit I ended up doing in not only this save, but the Pokemon game series in general. I learned some HTML in high school, and I wanted to tell this story. I might as well apply both at once. If this interests you, you can check out more on both of the pages listed in the navigation bar above! Thanks for reading! Updates to come soon!.
